Spanish and French

Hello!

I am a Chilean journalist and film music composer, living in the south of France for 15 years.

I grew up in Chile and always had a love for foreign languages. Throughout my school years, in addition to English, I learned a few Greek grammar, Latin, French and Music (which is also a language, and a very special one that helps you to learn more languages). So, since I was fourteen years old, I have been playing in bands and singing, always in English, which has always felt natural to me.

Finishing high school, as I wanted to focus my life on communication/language science studies, all this training helped me to decide to study Journalism, a career that I paid thanks to music, playing and singing in bars; But latter I discovered the career was more oriented to press and not too much in the science of communication, and as my interest for the theory of language and the question of "how sound is emotionally interpreted as a language", was bigger than for the practical part of "being a journalist", after five years of approved studies in the career, I decided to change my path and took a sabbatical year...

And language opened the world to me.

Traveling around South America, I met my wife, and since she is French, I leave everything and move my life to France, which was scary, but felt the right thing to do, and was it!

Here in France, I learned the French language in depth, for which my training in music (to repeat sounds and finally talk), and my knowledge in Spanish language theory (to read and write) helped me a lot. Then, as starting a journalism career in France from scratch was not an option, I FINALLY decided to dedicate myself to my great passion: Making music, so I made my way into film music, as a composer.

Since then, I have lived my life speaking French, English and Spanish, switching from one language to the other almost daily whether with my family, at work or with friends. That's why I'd like to share what I've learned over time about Spanish and French languages.

I'll be glad to be part of your way to learning another language, something that I know can be scary, like playing in front of a thousand people! But with the right practice and the right instruments, it is a life-changing experience.
