Learning a language for work?

So you’re learning a language for work and need to speak it before you’re fully fluent? We have tips just for you!

✨ First and absolutely foremost, give yourself a high five!🫸🫷You’re already doing amazing just by being brave enough to do this daunting thing!!

✨ Learn the lingo that’s specific to your industry. Seems like a no-brainer, but it can be difficult to do. Traditional language courses and language learning apps aren’t going to put industry-specific terms front and center, so seek those out and integrate them with the help of your Language Coach.

✨ Role-play common scenarios with your Language Coach as well. You can be sure some specific workplace conversations will come up, so get a head start on those.

✨ Embrace mistakes! Making mistakes is a natural part of learning. Use the oops moments as opportunities to improve rather than obstacles to confidence.

✨ If you don't understand something, don’t struggle in silence! Ask your colleagues for clarification. This shows you are engaged and committed to getting it right, which builds confidence over time.

✨ Write down any language issue that comes up in your workday so you can discuss it with your Language Coach. It’s easy to let little errors slip by, but don’t miss the opportunity to really hone in on what needs improvement.
